Iran vows to rebuild nuclear facilities ‘with greater strength’ after U.S. strikes

TEHRAN, Nov. 2, 2025 — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday that Iran will rebuild its nuclear facilities “with greater strength,” following U.S. strikes earlier this year, while insisting that Tehran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons.

Speaking to state media during a visit to the headquarters of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, Pezeshkian met with senior officials in the nuclear sector and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to what he described as a “peaceful” nuclear program.

“The destruction of buildings and factories will not create a problem for us. We will rebuild them with greater strength,” Pezeshkian said, responding to the latest warnings from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump said last week that he would order new attacks on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure if Tehran attempts to restart any of the facilities targeted by U.S. airstrikes in June. Washington claimed at the time that the sites were part of a weapons-oriented nuclear program — an accusation Iran continues to reject.

Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran’s nuclear activities serve only civilian purposes. “Everything we do is aimed at solving people’s problems — addressing diseases and improving public health,” he said, emphasizing Iran’s position that its nuclear technology supports medical and scientific progress.

The confrontation between Washington and Tehran has intensified in recent months. In October, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dismissed Trump’s repeated claims that the U.S. military had “completely destroyed” Iran’s nuclear program, calling them “ridiculous boasting.”

While international observers have warned of escalating tensions in the Middle East, Pezeshkian’s remarks signal Tehran’s defiance in the face of renewed U.S. pressure and its determination to maintain control over its nuclear infrastructure.
