President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has returned to Türkiye following a landmark three-day diplomatic tour across Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman — a mission that secured 24 new agreements spanning defense, energy, investment, and education. The trip underscored Türkiye’s deepening engagement with the Gulf states and reaffirmed Ankara’s calls for a two-state solution in Gaza, blending diplomacy with a showcase of national innovation through the country’s domestically produced Togg electric vehicles.

Strengthening Ties in Kuwait

Erdoğan began his tour in Kuwait, where he met with Emir Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah to discuss expanding economic and strategic cooperation. The talks centered on enhancing bilateral relations, fostering unity among Muslim nations regarding Gaza, and coordinating approaches to the Syrian conflict.

The two nations signed a series of memoranda of understanding covering maritime transport, energy collaboration, and the promotion of direct investments. In a symbolic gesture highlighting Türkiye’s industrial and technological progress, Erdoğan presented the Kuwaiti emir with a Togg electric vehicle — a centerpiece of Türkiye’s growing automotive industry and a representation of its economic self-sufficiency.

Deepening the Strategic Partnership with Qatar

In Doha, Erdoğan co-chaired the 11th High Strategic Committee Meeting with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, a forum that has become a cornerstone of Turkish-Qatari relations. Erdoğan described the bilateral partnership as “excellent,” emphasizing its importance for regional stability and mutual economic growth.

The meeting produced new agreements focused on strategic development planning and defense industry collaboration. The two leaders also reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional diplomacy, particularly on issues concerning Gaza and broader Middle Eastern security. The agreements further consolidated an already close relationship marked by mutual support in defense, trade, and humanitarian initiatives.

Expanding Cooperation with Oman

Erdoğan’s final stop in Muscat resulted in the broadest set of agreements of the tour, covering sectors from defense and mining to media and education. During discussions with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, the two leaders aligned on diplomatic efforts regarding Palestine and broader conflict mediation across the region.

Key accords included a visa exemption for ordinary passport holders, cooperation on critical minerals, and a strategic investment partnership between the Turkish Wealth Fund and the Oman Investment Authority. The Turkish Maarif Foundation also secured land to establish schools in Oman — an expansion of Türkiye’s educational outreach abroad.

A Tour Framed by Diplomacy and Industry

Throughout the Gulf tour, Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye’s commitment to regional stability and economic integration while positioning the Togg electric vehicle as a national emblem of technological innovation and industrial independence. The 24 agreements signed during the trip mark a substantial step forward in Türkiye’s strategy to strengthen political and economic ties with Gulf partners amid shifting regional dynamics.

Erdoğan’s return to Ankara concludes a tour that not only reinforced Türkiye’s diplomatic footprint across the Gulf but also showcased its growing role as a bridge between regional power centers and as an advocate for a unified stance on critical international issues such as the Gaza crisis.
