Beginning this term, UAE schools will implement diagnostic assessments in the early weeks of the academic year. These tools are designed to provide teachers with detailed insights into each student’s learning profile, moving away from reliance solely on end-of-term exams. The approach aligns with recent education reforms, including the integration of an AI curriculum and updated assessment policies, reflecting a shift toward personalized, data-driven learning.

The assessments will cover core subjects such as Arabic, English, and Mathematics for students in Grades 4–11. In the first phase, around 26,000 students will participate in a standardized proficiency test. The assessment calendar has also been restructured: centralized tests will now occur only in the first and third semesters, while the second semester emphasizes school-based evaluations. Early results will allow teachers to adapt lessons and interventions before learning gaps widen.
