Stipendium Hungaricum Launches Dissertation Scholarship for Doctoral Students
Doctoral students enrolled in the Stipendium Hungaricum programme who have obtained their pre-degree certificate (absolutorium) in the 2025/2026 fall semester—but have not yet received their doctoral degree—are now eligible to apply for the Stipendium Hungaricum Dissertation Scholarship.
Scholarship Duration and Terms
The scholarship begins the month following the completion of the semester in which the doctoral student obtains their absolutorium. The award continues for the number of months granted but cannot extend beyond the calendar month of the public defense of the thesis. The maximum duration for the scholarship is five months.
Application Process
Applicants must use the existing online application system at https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/ and should not create a new account; instead, applicants must clone their previous account.
The Board of Trustees of the Tempus Public Foundation (TPF) will finalize the list of scholarship recipients by the end of January 2026.
For full details regarding eligibility, application procedures, and submission deadlines, applicants should consult the official Call for Application.
This scholarship provides targeted support to help doctoral students focus on their research and complete their dissertations on schedule.
